Christiana Knapman

Christiana Knapman (she/her)

Speech Pathologist

BComm, MEd, MSpPath, CPSP

Prior to speech pathology, Christiana completed a Master of Education and a Bachelor of Communication. She worked as director and in other senior roles in national education, youth and health policy and program areas. The opportunity to combine these interests and work closely with clients led her to speech pathology. Christiana completed her Master of Speech Pathology at La Trobe University where she was awarded a scholarship for most outstanding achievement.

Before joining our clinic, Christiana worked with people of all ages across diverse areas of speech pathology practice in community health services. As part of our team, she was able to pursue her interest in stuttering and has now dedicated her focus to this area. Christiana offers considerable experience in telehealth delivery of stuttering therapy, working with clients nationally and based overseas. She has been trained in stuttering therapy programs including the Lidcombe Program and the Oakville Program, and RESTART-DCM.

Christiana enjoys fostering strong and caring connections with her preschool and school-aged clients, many of whom have diverse or additional needs. She adapts support to the individual context of families, including for children moving between separated households and children in care.

Apart from her professional expertise, Christiana brings the perspective, sensitivity and understanding of a parent who supported her own child with stuttering therapy.

Christiana is a Certified Practising Member of Speech Pathology Australia and member of the Victorian Stuttering Interest Group.

Christiana consults via telehealth on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
