Kylie completed a Bachelor of Speech Pathology at La Trobe University, Melbourne, in 2000 and has worked at Brenda Carey Speech Pathology since 2009.

Kylie started her career working with clients with a range of communication disorders in both Australia and the UK. In 2008, she specialised in stuttering, working at the Bankstown Stuttering Unit, the Australian Stuttering Research Centre, the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, and the University of Melbourne.

Kylie has a special interest in the social and emotional implications of stuttering. She completed a certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in 2009 and a PhD investigating stuttering and anxiety in 2017. She has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international conferences. She has also written numerous articles and blogs on stuttering, and has been a guest on ABC radio, Triple R, and Kinderling Kids Radio.

Kylie is a Clinical Fellow at the Australian Stuttering Research Centre and member of the Lidcombe Program Trainers Consortium, an international group that teaches speech pathologists to deliver the Lidcombe Program. She has trained speech pathologists in Australia, Turkey, and Lebanon and continues to guest lecture and supervise speech pathology master’s students at several universities.

Kylie adheres to evidence-based practices and collaborates closely with her clients and their families to set meaningful goals, always mindful of the broader social and emotional implications of stuttering.

Kylie recently returned from three years living and working in France with her family. She currently consults on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
