With over 30 years’ experience working both in Australia and the UK, Fiona is aware that families have varied lifestyles and needs. Fiona understands that every child is different and believes in quality, individualized care. Fiona believes that building relationships and working collaboratively with families, schools and others involved in her clients’ lives is vital to achieve desired outcomes.
Fiona has worked clinically at Brenda Carey Speech Pathology and the National Health System in the United Kingdom. Her experience of using many therapy approaches for various ages allows Fiona to be adaptable.
Fiona provides mentoring to speech pathologists as well as having provided clinical education for speech pathology students at La Trobe University and the Australian Catholic University. She trains others how to administer a wide range of evidence-based stuttering treatments and how to implement these for various ages.
Fiona has worked in research at the Australian Stuttering Research Centre, and in 2022 she commenced her Masters/PhD, exploring the use of technology to deliver the Lidcombe Program.
Fiona has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology), an Associate Diploma (Diversional Therapy) and a Post Graduate Certificate in Health Management. She is a Certified Practising Member of Speech Pathology Australia, and a member of The Victorian Stuttering Interest Group.
