What the Camperdown Program offers

Adult stuttering treatment: a continually improving field
There is now a wider range of effective and convenient treatments for adults who stutter. One treatment with sound evidence to support its use in adults is the Camperdown Program(O'Brian et al, 2003; Carey et al., 2010, 2012, 2014). The Camperdown Program markedly reduces stuttering through speech restructuring methods. It has several advantages over earlier speech restructuring treatments:
The Camperdown Program: flexible and convenient
Attending a clinic can be inconvenient for those working or studying. It can also be difficult for those who live outside of cities or internationally. The Camperdown Program is able to adapt to the needs of these clients through the use of technology. We offer therapy, not just face-to-face, but also by telepractice which enables you to receive your treatment by phone or by webcam internet. Treatment in this way can be as effective (Carey et al, 2010). For these reasons, telepractice is now an attractive alternative delivery method for people who stutter.
Since our clinicians specialise in stuttering, we are able to provide a service appropriate to the needs of individual clients. For those who want to see results quickly, intensive programs are available. During intensive programs clients are treated for several whole days consecutively. For those who wish to practice their fluency in real-life environments, we can supervise practice in public venues such as work or shopping centres. For those who have had treatment and wish to refresh their skills, we provide individual and group options to achieve this.
